Hi, my name is Ericca! I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at Yorkville University where I developed my therapeutic style. I believe that every client is unique and thus it is important to find a good client-therapist match. I work from a client-centered lens, ensuring that my client is at the forefront of their care. Through being a non-judgemental and compassionate facilitator, I strive to acknowledge and understand my clients’ experience. Further, I integrate techniques from other therapeutic modalities in order to meet the individual needs of my client. Some therapies I work from include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative therapy, and Emotion-focused therapy (EFT). I have worked with a diverse range of individual clients, including people ages 8 and up, couples, and families. I specialize in helping clients with grief and loss. Grief experiences and expressions are unique and complex. I strive to provide clients with a safe and comfortable space to explore experiences of loss. I am also passionate and experienced in aiding clients presenting with anxiety, self-esteem challenges, relationship conflicts, depression, communication, and parenting.

Having encountered significant loss as a child, I was confronted with a wave of grief and trauma that I did not have the skills or insight to navigate on my own. Grief during childhood can be so overwhelming, isolating, and confusing to try to understand and accept. After trying to cope with the loss through engaging in both internalizing and externalizing behaviours, I was connected with supports and gained the ability to finally come out on the other side of what seemed like a never-ending tidal wave. Throughout my experience, I developed a deep appreciation for how a safe and genuine therapeutic relationship characterized by unconditional acceptance, ongoing support, regular insight and reflection, and skill building, can help us move through the waves of life.

My desire to support others who are feeling overwhelmed, anxious and dysregulated by the challenges of life stems from my own experience working through childhood grief. Specifically, throughout my career, I have developed a growing passion for supporting children, youth, and young adults navigating through the challenges of life. This includes working with individuals to process and resolve past trauma, loss, mood-related hardships, or the stressors of daily life in order to engage more fully and presently in life once again. By providing a warm, nonjudgmental, and safe space, I aim to ensure you feel heard and supported as we work together.

Taking the first step towards healing and returning to feeling like yourself is recognizing that you don’t have to sail the wave alone. Together, we can figure it out. It would be an honour to join you on your journey towards self-discovery, healing, and wellness. While I am mindful that I will not be the right fit for everyone, I encourage you to book in a free 15-minute consultation call to ask questions, discuss what you are looking for, and determine if you’d like to move forward together.
